What is assumed in these illustrations?

Both start at the fictional Mirror closing position: €103,000 property, €27,200 investments, €16,550 cash and €41,600 debt. The percentages show the assumed total change in each category by 2031, not an annual return or a recommendation.

Intermediate positions are spaced proportionally by elapsed time between the starting and ending amounts. This is a schematic comparison, not a funded financial plan. Income, spending, contributions, financing, fees, taxes and inflation are not modelled; neither scenario is a calculated forecast. No probability, risk rating or guarantee is implied.

Category names and exact positions are available in each chart’s figures. Amounts reconcile as assets less debt; these fictional scenarios are independent of personal financial records.

A separate tax illustration

How could taxes affect each path?

Lower taxable income moves the marker left. This example is independent of Scenarios A and B: it does not calculate their tax or cashflow.

A lower taxable income can reduce total tax without changing the marginal rate.

A progressive tax curve

Invented tariff — not German or other tax law

Tax assumptions and exact rates

This invented teaching tariff is zero through €12,000, then rises from 14% to 42% at €70,000 and stays at 42%. Total tax is the area under the curve, not the marginal rate multiplied by all income.

Marginal rates: 39.10% → 35.24%. Exact annual tax: €13806.90 → €10833.10.

No deduction eligibility is assumed. Real rules, credits, contributions and personal circumstances require a separate assessment. These amounts do not feed the wealth charts.

The largest financial outcome is not always the best personal decision.

Monthly cashflow, expenses and taxes matter too — alongside flexibility, risk, liquidity, time and your goals.
